It was another busy week at the capitol. Many advocacy groups had their lobby days so I had the chance to meet with a lot of different groups on a lot of different issues. In this update, you’ll find a recap of some of those meetings, my latest column, and a recap of my tour of the State Crime Lab.

This week’s Dianne Direct is all about the budget. Governor Evers delivered his third budget address on Wednesday, presenting his plan for the next two years. His budget included a lot of new proposals, like Paid Family and Medical Leave and increased child care funding, and some familiar ones.

Welcome to this edition of Dianne Direct! Once again it was another busy week at the capitol as we prepare for the governor’s budget address on Wednesday, February 15th at 7 pm.

It was another busy week in the Capitol. On Tuesday, January 24th, Governor Evers delivered his 5th State of the State Address. On Monday, we observed the 50th Anniversary of the historic Roe v. Wade decision. It was great to see so many people this week visiting the office. You can read about all of that and more below.

And we have a winner! By a narrow margin "Dianne Direct" emerged as the new name for my e-Update. Thank you to everyone who voted and everyone who suggested different names. I'm excited to continue on with my Dianne Direct e-Updates and who knows - maybe there will be more opportunities in the future for you to help me choose other things in my new position.
