Brown County, Municipalities to Receive Additional $534,000

from Lambeau Sales Tax Revenues

GREEN BAY- Brown County and its municipalities will receive an additional $534,185 from Lambeau Sales Tax returns. In the last Legislative Session, Senator Robert Cowles (R-Green Bay) authored Senate Bill 233, signed into law, which returned over $17.6 million in excess stadium sales tax revenue to Brown County and the encompassing municipalities. This most recent review from the Wisconsin Department of Revenue identified additional revenues were collected since the previous distribution in December 2015.

Senator Cowles released the following statement on the most recent excess tax revenue distribution:

“The additional monies going to Brown County and its municipalities will add to the already significant returns made last year. Bringing the excess revenues, collected from the 0.5% Lambeau Stadium Sales Tax, back into our communities will help to spur projects to increase the quality of life in Northeast Wisconsin. I am proud to have worked on such important legislation for Brown County and that excess revenues collected are continuing to go into the community in a timely and effective manner. Our local officials have been diligent in determining the correct course to use these funds and I thank them for their dedicated leadership providing innovative ideas to utilize these funds for the taxpayers of Brown County.”
