E-Updates

In this week's e-update, I wanted to take the time to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving as we reflect on what we are thankful for this year. Additionally, I talk about the Assembly Committee on Agriculture Public hearing and the bill that I testified relating to grass pilot program. 

In this week's E-update, I cover my "No" vote on the Brewers Legislation and this week's session update. I also talk about the Committee on Local Government and bills that I am working on this session. 

This week was a busy week in Madison, and this update includes a lot of variety of information. Testionomy on two different bills, session update, and an award presented to me. 

In this week's E-update, I talk about testifying on a bill that would allow video conferencing during certain civil court proceedings and talk about a bill that I authored that would expand graduate medical training grants and make an appropriation.

In this E-update, I talk about the 51st Assembly District's first responder of the year Chief Kanable, Avoca. Chief Kanable was nominated by people in his community for responding to a call outside his jurisdiction for a patient suffering from an arterial bleeding injury. 

This week, I recap the public hearing Committee on Environment and talk about Darlington Elementary/ Middle School, named National Blue Ribbon School by the United States Department of Education. 

This week's update discusses the public hearing I chaired for the Committee on Local Government, first responders nominations now open, and Capitol meetings.

A busy week at the State Capitol, I joined my assembly colleagues at a press conference to re-introduce a nonpartisan redistricting bill based on the “Iowa Model” in the Wisconsin State Assembly. I also talk about the two-session floor day on a tax cut package, childcare support programs, and nonpartisan redistricting.

As we head into the Fall Session, I talk about the bills I am working on to update the constituents of the 51st Assembly District. Highlight the executive session for the Committee on Public Safety and Criminal Justice and discuss 2023's first responder of the year nominations. 

As we head back to school this year, in this E-update, I talk about the increase in funding for K-12 education in the biennial budget that I was proud to support. As well as the Richland and Iowa County fairs happening this week.
