Expo Center will be Regional Asset for Decades to Come

GREEN BAY– Senator Robert Cowles (R-Green Bay) released the following statement after the ribbon-cutting ceremony to formally open the Resch Expo Center in Ashwaubenon:

“Even as a lifelong area resident, I can’t quite fully grasp the magnitude that today’s grand opening could have on our region’s economy in years and decades to come. The events that will be held in the Resch Expo Center will not just bring funds to that facility and its vendors, but the people who attend those events will stay in hotels, eat at restaurants, shop in local stores, and may even spend a few extra days in the area or come back later to explore our region further. I want to thank everyone involved in this project, and I look forward to seeing the Resch Expo Center in action once it’s safe to hold large gatherings.”

As a Legislator and as a member of the Green Bay/Brown County Professional Football Stadium District, Senator Cowles has been involved with helping to progress the Expo Center project. He helped champion an effort that returned over $5 million in excess stadium tax collections to the county government which helped to fund this project and an additional effort which set aside $2 million for this project in a prior State Budget. Senator Cowles also voted to provide $1 million to the Expo Center through his role on the Stadium District.
