Representative Mark Born (R – Beaver Dam) made the following statement in reaction to the State of the State Address:

Representative Mark Born (R-Beaver Dam) joined his Assembly Republican colleagues to pass legislation protecting fundamental rights of parents. Assembly Bill (AB) 510 asserts the rights of parents and guardians relating to their children’s healthcare, education, and religion.

The State Assembly convened today to take action on a series of bills aimed at improving access to healthcare and dental care in Wisconsin. 

On Thursday, Representative Mark Born (R-Beaver Dam) voted in favor of Assembly Bill 415, which would implement nonpartisan redistricting in Wisconsin.

Co-Chair of the Joint Committee on Finance (JFC), Representative Mark Born (R-Beaver Dam), issued the following statement related to Governor Evers’ budget vetoes:

Representative Mark Born (R-Beaver Dam) voted in favor of a new two-year state budget that will reduce taxes by $4.4 billion dollars, invest over one billion dollars in K-12 schools, provide more money for local roads and state highway rehabilitation and support access to high-quality healthcare.

Representative Mark Born (R-Beaver Dam) voted in favor of increasing funding for public education by over $1 billion, along with supporting school choice programs, during action taken by the Joint Committee on Finance (JFC). In addition, the Committee took action on an amended version of Assembly Bill (AB) 45, which will provide a historic increase in funding for local governments throughout the state.

Representative Mark Born (R-Beaver Dam) voted in favor of an amended version of Assembly Bill (AB) 245, which will provide a historic increase in local government funding. Under the amended plan passed by the Assembly, local governments throughout the state will receive at least a 20% increase in state funding.

Today, the Joint Committee on Finance (JFC) completed four agencies, including the Department of Revenue (DOR), Employee Trust Funds (ETF), Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) and Miscellaneous Appropriations. The Co-Chairs of the Committee, Senator Howard Marklein (R-Spring Green) and Representative Mark Born (R-Beaver Dam) highlighted investments made by the committee:
