Representative Mark Born was born and raised in Beaver Dam.  He resides there with his wife, Liberty, and their daughter, Reagan. 

Mark is a graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College, St. Peter MN with a Bachelors degree in political science and history.  Mark served area communities for almost 15 years as an employee of the Dodge County Sheriff's Department. 

Mark previously served on the Beaver Dam Common Council for two terms.  He is an active member in a number of community organizations including the Dodge County Historical Society, Beaver Dam Lake Improvement Association, Beaver Dam Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Beaver Dam, Beaver Dam Elk's Lodge 1540, Republican Party of Dodge County, NRA, and St. John's Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.

Mark is currently in his fourth term as Representative of the 39th Assembly District. In the 2019-20 legislative session, he serves as a member of the Joint Committee on Finance and as a member of the State Building Commission. In previous sessions, Mark served as a member of the Criminal Justice and Public Safety, Financial Institutions, Insurance, Natural Resources and Sporting Heritage, and Tourism committees. He also chaired the Committee on Public Benefit Reform. 
Mark is also a member of the State Capitol and Executive Residence Board and University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics Authority.
