State Representative Paul Melotik Honored with Associated Builders and Contractors Building Wisconsin Award

On October 9th, I was thrilled to receive the Associated Builders and Contractors Building Wisconsin award for my efforts to increase enrollment in the skilled construction trades.

ABC estimates that we’ll need about half a million more construction workers soon, based on U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data.

Here is a picture from the ceremony, with Roland Gutknecht and Alicia Gutknecht presenting the award at Orly Solutions in Cedarburg.

Representative Melotik Honored with WMC’s Working for Wisconsin Award

*Statement from Representative Melotik*: I am truly honored to receive the Working for Wisconsin Award from the Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce. This recognition reflects not just my efforts, but the collaborative work accomplished together to foster a thriving business climate in our great state.

I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to WMC President & CEO Kurt R. Bauer and Executive VP of Government Relations Scott Manley for their support and commitment to pro-growth policies. It is through our shared dedication to improving the tax climate, cutting unnecessary regulations, and fostering entrepreneurship that we can truly make Wisconsin the best place to live, work, and play.

This award underscores the importance of working across party lines to achieve our goals. Together, we can continue to attract and retain a talented workforce, drive economic growth, and ensure that our state remains competitive.

I look forward to continuing this vital work alongside WMC and my fellow legislators. Let’s keep building a brighter future for Wisconsin!

Rep. Melotik Honors Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Deputy Christian Almonte as a Hometown Hero

On Tuesday, November 14th, at the State Assembly floor session, State Representative Paul Melotik (R-Grafton) honored Christian Almonte, a Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Deputy and a resident of the 24th Assembly District as a hometown hero.

On January 26, 2022 Deputy Christian Almonte was shot in the line of duty while searching for a suspect from a traffic stop in the City of Milwaukee. Deputy Almonte was rushed to the hospital and was treated for multiple gunshot wounds. Miraculously, Christian was discharged and walked out of the hospital the very next day. Christian was met by a crowd of Sheriff’s Office officials, local police department officials, fellow officers and the general public to show support.

Rep. Melotik said “Deputy Almonte’s immediate and unselfish actions undoubtedly saved lives and prevented severe injuries from occurring to the public. Deputy Almonte’s quick response and selflessness, at a critical moment reflected the high standards of service that law enforcement officers aspire to uphold. Deputy Almonte displays great loyalty, commitment and professionalism in the performance of his duties and for this, I am honored to recognize Deputy Christian Almonte as our Hometown Hero”
