By now you've likely heard that the state is projected to have a $7.1 billion surplus come June. What I'm guessing you haven't heard is that $4 billion of that is a one-time surplus. Only about $3 billion of it is expected to be ongoing.

Supporting Women in Architecture and Engineering
To kick off Women's History Month, I introduced my bill, which seeks to establish a goal for at least 5% of state building projects to be contracted with woman-owned firms for architecture, engineering, and professional services.

MONDAY: Office Hours

Bail Reform
This week my colleagues and I convened to consider Senate Joint Resolution 2 (SJR 2), which proposes an amendment to the Wisconsin Constitution regarding bail. In order to amend our state constitution, it is required that the resolution be passed by both houses of the legislature in two consecutive sessions, and then it must also pass in a statewide referendum.
