The Senate Sergeant at Arms is elected by members of the Wisconsin State Senate every two years and is the constitutional officer responsible for leading and managing a nonpartisan office that employs both full-time and part-time staff. Besides ceremonial duties as outlined in the Senate Rules, the Sergeant at Arms executes all orders of the Senate connected with the police and good order of the body.
Additionally, the Office of the Senate Sergeant at Arms provides logistical/administrative support to the Senate and Senate leadership.
