Born and raised in Central Wisconsin, Cory Tomczyk and his wife Becky have called Mosinee home since 1988. Together, they’ve raised two children and are proud grandparents to three. With deep roots in the community, the Tomczyks have built both a life and a legacy grounded in hard work, community, and service.

In 1989, while working second shift at Kolbe and Kolbe, Cory launched his own small business—IROW (Industrial Recyclers of Wisconsin). With perseverance, risk-taking, and a strong work ethic, he and Becky grew IROW into a thriving Central Wisconsin company. The business has served the region for over 30 years and was recognized in 1998 as the Wausau Chamber of Commerce’s “Small Business of the Year.”

Cory’s commitment to his community extends far beyond business. He has been actively involved in a variety of local and national organizations, including the International Secure Information Governance and Management Association (i-SIGMA), the National Association for Information Destruction (NAID), the Wausau Chamber of Commerce, the Hope Food Pantry, and the Mosinee School Board, where he served as president for five years.

Inspired to make meaningful change, Cory realized that supporting good policy from the sidelines wasn’t enough; he felt called to step up and serve. In 2022, he was elected to represent the 29th District in the Wisconsin State Senate, bringing with him honest business know-how, tenacious conservative principles, and a deep love for the people and values of Central Wisconsin.

During the 2025–2026 legislative session, Senator Tomczyk serves as Chair of the Senate Committee on Transportation and Local Government, Vice-Chair of the Committee on Agriculture and Tourism, and as a member of the Committee on Natural Resources, Veteran, and Military Affairs, the Joint Committee for Review of Administrative Rules, and the Committee on Administrative Rules.
