MADISON, WI… With violent “smash and grab” retail thefts on the rise, a state Assembly committee today in a 13-2 vote passed legislation to deter these criminals by making it easier for local authorities to levy felony theft charges against repeat offenders.

MADISON, WI… Victims whose images are unknowingly twisted into synthetic “deep fake” pornography for display on social media or other distribution would receive stronger legal protections under bipartisan legislation that overwhelmingly passed a State Senate committee today.

MADISON, WI… Wisconsin’s efforts to empower individuals with disabilities continued today as the State Senate approved tax-exempt savings accounts to help cover the cost of services that help those with physical and cognitive challenges live full, independent lives. The program, part of a broad update of state financial regulations (Senate Bill 668), also overwhelmingly passed the Senate as separate legislation (Senate Bill 122) last June.
