SUMMARY

We provided unmodified audit opinions on the State of Wisconsin’s FY 2019-20 financial statements. These statements are included in the State’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, which is prepared by the Department of Administration (DOA). We report material weaknesses in internal control at the Department of Workforce Development and the Department of Employee Trust Funds. In addition, we report significant deficiencies related to information technology (IT) security at DOA and the University of Wisconsin System. We make recommendations to these agencies to address the deficiencies we identified.
