SUMMARY

The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) administers three recycling programs, including two programs for awarding grants to local governments to help cover the costs of administering their recycling programs, and one electronics recycling program for manufacturers. The Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) administers the Clean Sweep program. In report 20-21, we provide recommendations for DNR and DATCP to improve the administration of state recycling programs. In report 20-22, we identify 15 best practices that local governments can use to comply with state recycling laws and improve the administration of their recycling programs.
