SUMMARY

From the creation of the Fund in April 2012 through FY 2015-16, 17 grant recipients were awarded a total of $513,359 in support of literacy and early childhood development programs. As of the end of FY 2015-16, the Fund is fully committed. A related GPR appropriation that, with the Fund, supports these grants, is also fully committed through FY 2016-17. We make recommendations to improve the process for awarding grants and to address the future of the grant program.
