SUMMARY

The program currently provides subsidized prescription drug benefits to more than 90,000 individuals who are 65 or older. Its FY 2004-05 budget is $117.4 million. Among applications approved in 2003, an appropriate level of benefits was provided in 82.5 percent of cases. However, applicants underestimated or under-reported their incomes in 11.9 percent of cases, at an estimated cost of $6.9 million in GPR and federal funds.
