SUMMARY

The Department has faced many challenges in implementing the Integrated Tax System. Some distributions have not been accurate or timely. Our review identified a new sales and use tax processing concern that resulted in additional overpayments to local units of government. We believe it would be prudent to proceed cautiously on overpayment collections until confidence in the system can be assured.
