State Programs / Agency Contacts

Navigating the myriad state agencies and government contacts can be a daunting task without a good guide. If you are looking for assistance or have general questions about a particular state program, please contact my office. My staff and I would be happy to assist you. You can also check the list of state agencies and what they have to offer by visiting this directory

Blue Books / How a Bill Becomes a Law

State of Wisconsin Blue Books and the How a Bill Becomes a Law resource packet are available both through my office and the Assembly Chief Clerk's website. Blue Books were originally published as a manual for state legislators, but now anyone can obtain a Blue Book for free to use as a resource for understanding state government and Wisconsin's history. If you are interested in either of these items, please send me an e-mail with your name and address or call my office to request one.

A PDF copy of How a Bill Becomes a Law is available here. The packet offers a great overview on how the legislative process works in Wisconsin.

Legislative Citations and Plaques

An official citation from the state legislature is a wonderful way to recognize an outstanding achievement. The legislature regularly issues citations honoring people who have become Eagle Scouts, received the Girl Scout Gold Award, retired after a long career, proudly served in the Armed Forces, and many other notable accomplishments.

If my schedule permits, I make a point of attending events to which I am invited to present the citation in person. Please contact my office to arrange this process.

Travel Wisconsin Guides

I am reminded each and every day how fortunate I am to live in a state like Wisconsin. If you are looking to travel around our state in search of recreation, natural beauty, fine art, good restaurants, or state history, my office has a number of resources available to make planning your trip easier. You may also request these items directly from the Travel Wisconsin website

Flag Requests

The Assembly Chief Clerk's office has both American and Wisconsin flags available for purchase. You may also choose to have the flag flown over the state capitol on behalf of someone and/or a special occasion. Flags flown over the capitol include a certificate of recognition.

U.S. Flag $12.00
Wisconsin Flag $12.00

To learn more about arranging a tour of the capitol during your upcoming visit to Madison, please visit the capitol tours web page. Work for Assembly Republicans

Many of my colleagues in the Assembly began their careers in the State Capitol as interns and as legislative assistants. Their experiences equipped them with the knowledge of state government and the tools they needed to succeed professionally. If you are a college student, an internship with the Wisconsin State Assembly can be a very rewarding experience. If you have recently graduated college and are ready to start your career, then you could join the Assembly as a legislative assistant. A legislative assistant is the entry-level position in the Assembly and includes working on constituent services, scheduling, researching legislation, and handling media relations.

If you want to pursue career opportunities with Republicans in the Assembly, then please fill out the information requested. You may also wish to contact my office if you are interested in applying to see if I have a job opening available. Simply submit your resume and a brief cover letter to my office by mail or e-mail.
