Madison – Today, members of the Assembly and Senate convened in the State Capitol for the Inauguration of the 104th Session of the Wisconsin State Legislature. Legislators and their families gathered in both chambers this afternoon for a formal swearing-in ceremony, which was conducted by Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Annette Ziegler. Representative Gundrum (R-Slinger) had the following to say about today’s ceremony:

“It is with great honor and humility that I begin my first full term serving the citizens of the 58th Assembly District. Inauguration Day stands as a reminder of our duties and oaths of office as we enter the next biennium. I was grateful to be able to celebrate this event with my family and loved ones, whose support has been invaluable to my service in the legislature.

“While divided government will present a series of unique challenges and considerations during the next biennium, I am committed to serving as a strong voice for the principles and values of my constituency. I am also hopeful that our strong GOP majority will find common ground with Governor Evers and the new administration on the salient issues facing our state.”

Rep. Gundrum is one of 63 Assembly Republicans serving in the 2019-20 legislative session.

Recently, Representative Gundrum was appointed as the Chair of the Assembly Committee on Aging & Long-Term Care and as the Vice-Chair of the Committee on Local Government. Rep. Gundrum will also serve as a member of the following committees: Children and Families, Insurance, Labor and Integrated Employment and Workforce Development.

“It is a privilege to have the opportunity to serve as a committee chairman and take a heightened role in the proceedings of the legislature. I look forward to working through the vast array of issues that will come before these committees.”
