Following the Wisconsin State Supreme Court’s ruling on the case Wisconsin Legislature vs. Andrea Palm which declared Governor Evers Administration’s Emergency Order 28 unenforceable due to its illegal construct, State Assembly Representative Rick Gundrum (R-Slinger) released the following statement:

"This ruling means all local businesses may open up immediately, family members can once again reunite with loved ones, and we can attend church services without fear or intimidation of violating an illegal overreaching government order from an unelected Madison bureaucrat.”

“I encourage everyone to continue to follow the practices of personal hygiene, social distancing, hand washing, hand sanitizer use, and telecommuting for the time being. The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation has outlined suggested guidelines for small business to reopen and recommendations that will keep patrons and employees safe during this transition back to work."

Universities and technical colleges will be allowed to reopen campuses. The ruling did not address public schools which means all public and private K-12 schools will remain closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year.

Wisconsin now joins multiple states that don't have extensive ‘stay at home orders’ but can continue to follow safe health practices that don’t infringe on our personal liberties.
