Madison, WI – Representative Rick Gundrum (R-Slinger) is now accepting nominations from the 58th Assembly District for the 2021 First Responder of the Year Award. The award was created in 2019 to highlight the great work the brave men and women of our emergency services do every day to keep our communities safe.

Nominees can include police officers, sheriff’s deputies, firefighters or any level of EMS personnel that you believe exemplify community service, selflessness, and dedication. One deserving individual will be selected from each Assembly district and invited to the State Capitol in Madison to be formally recognized on the Assembly floor during First Responders Appreciation Month in October. After including the form on his website, Representative Gundrum issued the following statement:

“I am excited to learn of all of the heroic First Responders in Wisconsin’s 58th Assembly District! I look forward to honoring these brave individuals every session. While we are never able to repay these men and women for their selfless acts, it is a true privilege to recognize them in the Assembly chamber. Our first responders are some of Wisconsin’s finest citizens and I appreciate the opportunity to learn more about them. Please do not hesitate to contact my office if you have any questions.”

Nominations are due to Representative Gundrum’s office no later than Friday, October 8 by 4:00 PM. They can be submitted through an online form on his legislative website at https://legis.wisconsin.gov/assembly/58/gundrum. The 58th Assembly District consists of Slinger, West Bend, Polk, the Village of Jackson, and part of Richfield.
