Reaction to Wisconsin Supreme Court’s Ruling on Emergency Orders

Madison, WI – Representative Rick Gundrum (R-Slinger) released the following statement after the Wisconsin Supreme Court decided Governor Tony Evers exceeded his authority in issuing continuous public health emergencies:

“The Wisconsin Supreme Court’s long overdue ruling is a victory for the rule of law. Constitutional government must be upheld, even in times of crisis. I applaud the majority for ruling on sound constitutional judgment, not on “outcome-focused concerns.” Supreme Court Justice Rebecca G. Bradley said it best, “While a pandemic will not follow the laws of men, the Governor must.” I hope this motivates Governor Evers to work with the state legislature, rather than ignore us.”
