Social Media Policy

Social media is a powerful tool that many use to connect with and stay informed about their local communities. Representative Lori Palmeri uses official legislative Facebook and Instagram pages as a space to share updates about Wisconsin state government, her work and activity as a Wisconsin State Representative, and issues affecting the 54th Assembly District and the State of Wisconsin. In order to encourage respectful and civil dialogue on these official pages, Representative Palmeri's office has adopted the following guidelines for social media interactions. 

Guidelines

Comments, posts, and interactions including (but not limited to) the following natures are prohibited on Representative Palmeri’s social media pages and are subject to being hidden or removed by the Office of Representative Palmeri:

• Content or conduct that encourages illegal activity or in violation of a federal, state or local law.
• Content that is threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, profane, obscene or indecent.
• Content that contains hate speech or discriminates against a protected class.
• Content that is confidential, invasive of another person’s privacy, or contains personal information.
• Content that tends to compromise the safety and security of the public, including state employees.
• Campaign content, including content urging or opposing the nomination or election of a candidate.
• Content that infringes on a copyright, trademark, or other proprietary right of any party.
• Advertisements, solicitations, or other content that promotes or endorses services or products.
• Content that is unrelated to the topic being discussed or business of the State of Wisconsin.
• Content that is repetitive or spamming in nature – including posting the same comment multiple times.
• Content that disrupts the normal flow of dialogue or negatively affects other users’ ability to engage in discussions on this page.
