E-Updates

As we head into the Fall Session, I talk about the bills I am working on to update the constituents of the 51st Assembly District. Highlight the executive session for the Committee on Public Safety and Criminal Justice and discuss 2023's first responder of the year nominations. 

As we head back to school this year, in this E-update, I talk about the increase in funding for K-12 education in the biennial budget that I was proud to support. As well as the Richland and Iowa County fairs happening this week. 

This week, I highlight the bipartisan group of legislators and staff tour of New Glarus Brewery that I hosted alongside Deb Carey, owner of New Glarus Brewery. Workforce Development was a significant focus for the Legislature during the budget cycle, as I highlight the important legislation impacting Wisconsin. 

This week's e-update talks about the tour I had at American Players Theater and seeing all the updates they have done. Additionally, I talk about the highlights of the biennial budget we voted on to help Wisconsin's tourism. 

The biennial state budget passes the State Assembly! This e-update highlights the months of work and dozens of hearings we have done to craft a budget that provided a significant increase in funding to public schools, eliminated the personal property tax, expanded the shared revenue program for local governments, and provided income tax cuts for all tax brackets. 

Shared revenue signed into law! This week, I talk about the importance of this law and how municipalities will see a historic investment. AG road improvement program was also signed into law a bill that I authored with Representative Travis Tranel (R-Cuba City). 

This week was a busy week in Madison as the Assembly was in session to vote on the passage of several important bills relating to workforce housing and shared revenue. Highlighting the public hearing, I chaired for local government and summarize the committee on environment's executive session. 

This week, I chaired the Committee on Local Government, talked about this week's session, and in-district events. 

This week's e-update highlights an update on the Joint Committee on Finance and key aspects of the state budget. Also, talk about the public hearing the committee on criminal justice and public safety had.
