Rep. Dallman Delivers Big Win for Boys and Girls Clubs of Wisconsin

Madison, WI – On June 15th, 2023, the Joint Committee on Finance (JFC) voted in favor of a budget motion championed by Representative Alex Dallman (R-Green Lake) which makes a major investment of $5,000,000 in new spending for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Wisconsin (BGCW).

The BGCW currently has 28 agencies around Wisconsin which help operate approximately 200 clubs located across approximately 74 cities. The $5,000,000 of new spending will be specifically allocated for the BGCW “Be GREAT: Graduate” program. This program has been a proven success throughout not only Wisconsin, but across the nation, by supporting students throughout their schooling to be able to graduate on time with a plan to be “college-, community-, or career-ready after graduation.”

The budget motion, which is now part of Wisconsin’s 2023-2025 biennial budget bill, will now move to a full vote of the legislature and then onto the governor.

“The 41st District is lucky to have two Boys and Girls Clubs with the Tri-County Area Club in Berlin and the brand new Columbia County/Portage Club in Portage,” said Rep. Dallman. “These clubs make lasting impacts on hundreds of our youth each year. It has been an honor to work alongside their respective leadership teams to deliver a massive investment that will change countless lives across Wisconsin.”
