About Shae

 

Representative Shae Sortwell has long been a passionate servant for his community. He was born in New York in 1985 while his father was serving in the US Navy as a Nuclear Submariner. When he was 15, their family moved to Gibson, Wisconsin.

He began his service to the public in the US Army Reserve Chemical Corps, serving for nine years, achieving the rank of SGT before his honorable discharge in early 2018. While attending UW-Green Bay, he was a member of the Student Government and founded a pro-life student organization on campus which is still active today. 

After graduating with degrees in Public Administration and Political Science, he continued his public service as an Alderman on the Green Bay City Council. In 2011, Shae began working at the Wisconsin State Capitol as a legislative aide to former Rep. Chad Weininger.

In 2015, Shae moved back to the town of Gibson in northern Manitowoc County and served on the Gibson Town Board as a Supervisor in 2017.

Shae and his wife, Krista, married in 2007, have six children and reside in the community of Gibson.
