The Legislative Audit Bureau makes 4 recommendations to the Department of Children and Families.

We recommend the Department of Children and Families:

1. require 24 child care providers to submit complete documentation of how they spent Child Care Counts funds awarded to them; (p. 7)
2. review the submitted documentation to ensure that these 24 child care providers spent all program funds for allowable purposes; (p. 7)
3. take into account all information submitted by child care providers when it conducts a review of the amounts awarded through the second supplemental round of child care funding; and (p. 8)
4. report to the Joint Legislative Audit Committee by June 30, 2021, on its efforts to implement these recommendations.
