WISCONSIN HISTORY PROJECT

Since 1901, the LRB has compiled key information relating to the actions and operations of the Wisconsin Legislature. The LRB’s archives contain copies of all introduced bills and resolutions, session laws, session statutes, and senate and assembly journals throughout state history, as well as legislative drafting files from 1927 to the present. The LRB provides access to these and other publications relevant to the state legislature and its history.

The Wisconsin History Project maintains and builds the LRB’s collections relating to the legislature. Much of this is current, but its curation over time will provide a comprehensive account of the members and operations of the legislature. Additionally, project members produce original research. Topics of investigation include important events in the legislature’s past, notable members, and legislation that shaped the lives of people across the state.
