May Flowers

Happy May, 14th District! If you happen to be in Madison at all, stop by the Capitol and check out the tulips. It's finally feeling like spring! 

Joint Finance Committee

Yesterday, the Joint Finance Committee had their first Executive Session on the proposed budget. In their first motion, they removed 131 important provisions, including the popular and fiscally responsible Medicaid Expansion. 

This is a blatantly partisan move from the Republicans, and one that does not reflect the will of the people.

School Visits

I'm always excited when schools from the 14th District visit the Capitol! Last week, 4th graders from Roosevelt Elementary in Wauwatosa took a tour of the People's House. It was a pleasure to meet you all and your parents before you left on your trip, and I hope you enjoyed the visit to Madison! 

Teacher Appreciation Week

Speaking of schools, this week was Teacher Appreciation Week! I'm so thankful of the wonderful teachers I've had in my life, and who we have in our school districts. Let my office know if there's a 14th District teacher you want us to send thanks to! 

National Nurses Week

Thank you to all the nurses who ensure the well-being of our families and communities everyday! If there's a nurse in your life that you want us to thank, please let us know!

Special thanks to Tom Portz of Brookfield for loaning us this beautiful painting for the 14th District office! This office now feels like a gallery of our communities and I am grateful to our constituents who have contributed to it. If you're a constituent interested in displaying art in our office, please let us know! 

 Looking Forward

SESSION DAY: On Wednesday, May 15th, the State Assembly will be voting on many resolutions and bills. For a full list, click here! 

We will be hosting more in-district office hours this month, and are in search of a location! Contact my office with suggestions for a local small business (cafe, restaurant, etc.) where we could meet with constituents in the 14th district.
