2023-25 State Budget

Made for Wisconsin

Over the past few months, the Joint Committee on Finance in the Wisconsin State Legislature met with agencies and stakeholders from all different backgrounds to create a financial plan for Wisconsin. The Committee's main goal is to continue to responsibly invest in our state while addressing Wisconsin's needs. In addition to meeting with agencies and advocates, we held listening sessions throughout the state of Wisconsin to solicit public input on the budget and better understand the greatest issues facing our communities. TAKE A LOOK AT THE PROCESS

Hear from the Committee on Joint Finance's Republican members and other Senators from our caucus regarding some of the investments we made in the budget and how we collected public input to create a plan made for Wisconsin!

We are investing more than the Governor proposed in transportation including a $362.8 million investment in local road and bridges.

Senator Marklein

This budget makes great strides toward keeping our communities safe.

Senator Wimberger

We provided funding for child care assistance for low income families, stipends paid directly to child care center workers, and opportunities for child care centers to continue serving our communities.

Senator Testin

We continued investment in agricultural programs to grow supply chains, improve the environment, innovate and grow exports.

Senator Ballweg

Our budget also includes a monumental investment in our local communities, ensuring cities, towns, villages, and counties throughout Wisconsin are able to provide the services that are required and expected of them under state law, such as police, fire, EMS, and roads.

Senator Felzkowski

We addressed the challenges at nursing homes by providing funds and additional resources to tackle these head-on.

Senator Testin

We made real investments in mental health by building capacity in a proven program at the Medical College of Wisconsin and invested an additional $41 million in meeting mental health needs statewide.

Senator James

How did we do it? We funded our priorities, we addressed our obligations, we cut taxes, we prepared Wisconsin for the future, and above all, we protected your checkbook.

Senator Marklein

... we invested in effective workforce development programs at both the Department of Workforce Development and the Technical College System.
