Below you will see the Capitol decorations are starting to take shape. Every year, elementary students across the state submit ornaments to be hung on the Capitol Christmas Tree. This year, we have three ornaments that are highlighted in the Capitol Showcase from Waterford and Mukwonago. Well done, students!

Thanksgiving has a long history in America, but it wasn’t until 1863, during the Civil War, that President Abraham Lincoln issued the first national Thanksgiving proclamation. Despite the challenges of war, President Lincoln emphasized the importance of giving thanks for the blessings we enjoy.

Now that campaign season has passed, the voters have spoken, and the results are in, I’m honored to return as your Senator.

As I mentioned in my last email several months ago, state law prohibited me from sending out mass communication from my office during the campaign season. However, my staff and I remained quite busy this summer and fall.

Beginning tomorrow, I won’t be able to send a mass communication from my government office until later this year due to state law. Because of this, I want to make sure you have my contact information:

Memorial Day is a time for us to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Their selfless dedication and unwavering commitment to our nation should never be forgotten or diminished.
