Realization of hope: Sen. Roys celebrates Justice Protasiewicz investiture

MADISON — Today, Janet Protasiewicz was sworn in as a Justice of the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Sen. Kelda Roys (D-Madison) issued the following statement:

“Today is a day to celebrate a renewed pursuit of democracy in Wisconsin,” Sen. Roys said. “I’m hopeful the swearing in of Justice Protasiewicz will mark the end of the modern Wisconsin Republican Party’s anti-democratic reign. Democracy is critical for human rights and I’m hopeful democracy can be renewed and protected for future generations.

“Justice Protasiewicz will be the champion democracy needs — prioritizing constitutional rights and democratic freedom over political power grabs and corporate greed.”
