JFC Democrats eager for Wisconsinites to be heard
MADISON, WI — Today, Republican chairs of the Joint Committee on Finance announced dates and locations for four public hearings on the state budget in April to gather feedback from Wisconsinites about Governor Tony Evers’ 2023-25 Biennial Budget.
All 16 members of the Committee will travel across the state to hold listening sessions and, once again, the Republican co-chairs have decided to avoid the most populous communities in the state. The four communities included are Waukesha on April 5; Eau Claire on April 11; Wisconsin Dells on April 12; and Minocqua on April 26.
“We are excited to listen to Wisconsinites from all over the state about how Governor Evers’ investments will make our communities stronger and safer places to live, work and raise families,” said the four Democratic members of the Joint Committee on Finance in a joint statement. “Governor Evers built this budget on a foundation of Wisconsin values, and we’re excited to continue advocating for strong public schools, affordable child care, and investments to support workforce development.”
The public hearings begin at 10 a.m. and end at 5 p.m. Those in attendance will be instructed to fill out a form upon arrival and will enter a queue to share their testimonies.
