Visit the Capitol

The interior of the Capitol dome is pictured from the Rotunda.

I encourage you to visit our beautiful State Capitol in Madison! The Capitol is open to the public year-round. You are welcome to explore the building on your own, or you may join a free guided tour.

If you will be visiting the State Capitol, please contact my office to let me know! I would be happy to ask the Capitol photographer to take a group photo of your tour group that I can send you as a commemorative print. If I am in Madison during your tour, I would be happy to meet with your group and speak with you about state government and my job as your State Senator, or join your photo. One of the best parts of my job is meeting with school groups – and other tour groups from the district – to show them around our beautiful Capitol.

Guided tours start at the information desk at the times listed below. You should expect a guided tour to last between 45 and 55 minutes. Groups of ten or more should call (608) 266-0382 or go online to make a reservation. No reservations are needed for groups of fewer than ten people.

Tour Times:

  • Mondays-Saturdays: 9:00, 10:00, 11:00 am and 1:00, 2:00, 3:00 p.m. A 4:00 p.m. tour is offered on weekdays (Monday - Friday) during the summer months.
  • Sundays: 1:00, 2:00, 3:00 p.m.
