Madison–Today the State Assembly and State Senate approved legislation authored by State
Representative John Jagler (R-Watertown) and State Senator Tim Cullen (D-Janesville) that
directs the Department of Transportation to designate and mark a route along the Rock River.
The bill intends to increase public appreciation of the river and the historic landmarks along the
river’s course.

“I was very happy to see the Rock River bill pass through both chambers today,” said Jagler.
“This legislation, which had strong bipartisan support in both the Assembly and Senate, will
benefit communities along the Rock River without using Department of Transportation funds. I
look forward to the Governor signing this bill into law.”
