Wisconsin's 4th Congressional District
Representing Wisconsin's 4th Congressional District since 2004, Congresswoman Gwen Moore is the first African American Congressperson from Wisconsin. She has served on the House Ways and Means Committee, including the Tax, Oversight, and Work and Welfare Subcommittees, focusing on progressive tax reforms and support for workers, children, and families. She chairs the bipartisan Congressional Caucus on Foster Youth, serves in various Congressional caucuses, and has previously served on Financial Services, Science, Space, and Technology, and Budget Committees. Congresswoman Moore is an advocate for low-income communities, championing economic improvement, job creation, and non-discriminatory practices. A staunch supporter of women's rights, she was Democratic Co-Chair of the Congressional Women’s Caucus from 2011 to 2013, leading on health insurance reform, women's health, maternal and infant mortality, and domestic violence. Internationally, she promotes responsible democracies via the House Democracy Partnership and received recognition for championing free speech. She is passionate about education, particularly for low-income students, and advocates for initiatives like the Federal TRIO programs.
U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin
Senator Tammy Baldwin, a lifelong Wisconsin resident, is a dedicated public servant committed to fostering fairness, equality, and economic opportunity for all. Baldwin overcame significant personal challenges related to health and familial struggles, molding her into a champion for issues like healthcare reform, opioid crisis management, and support for caregivers, evidenced by her instrumental role in the Affordable Care Act and the RAISE Family Caregivers Act. Beginning her political career on the Madison Common Council, Baldwin has served on the Dane County Board of Supervisors, the Wisconsin State Assembly, and the U.S. House of Representatives, breaking barriers as the state's first female and openly gay Congress member. In the Senate since 2012, Baldwin has prioritized education affordability, economic security, fair trade, and manufacturing initiatives, while also championing "Buy American" policies, infrastructure investment, and rural agricultural support. Throughout the COVID-19 crisis, she has advocated for relief measures to assist families, workers, and local governments. She serves on several Senate Committees and holds two Chair positions.
U.S. Senator Ron Johnson
U.S. Senator Ron Johnson, hailing from Wisconsin, has had a diverse career, transitioning from business to politics. Prior to his political tenure, he co-founded PACUR, a plastic sheet producer, which provided him with a unique perspective that he has brought to his work in the Senate since his election in 2010. A substantial part of Johnson's legislative portfolio is dedicated to issues relating to national security and foreign affairs. He has served on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and chaired the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. Johnson has expressed concerns about the role and influence of social media in contemporary society. He has been particularly vocal about what he perceives as unbalanced practices in content moderation by major social media platforms, advocating for increased transparency and accountability in these companies. He is also a fierce opponent of the Affordable Care Act, and advocates to allow the free market to decide who receives healthcare. After being elected for a third term in 2022, Johnson has declared that his focus will be on exploring claims of vaccine injury.
