(MADISON) Senator Lena C. Taylor (D-Milwaukee) issued the following statement on the federal court action on redistricting.

 

“Clearly the courts see that disenfranchisement of voters, including minorities, as happening under the Republican drawn maps.  Of course, the GOP will not fix these issues on the maps today as they should.  Their clear line of action this session has been to disenfranchise voters from the passage of the Voting ID Poll Tax bill to prohibiting high school voter registration deputies to passing redistricting maps that violate the Voting Rights Act.  Disenfranchisement is simply a plank in the Republican platform which they will not alter or veer from.”
