Senator Taylor Thanks Guardian Angels,
seeks permanent solution

MILWAUKEE- In response to recent incidents on Milwaukee County buses the public safety advocate group, The Guardian Angels have increased their presence on several county bus routes. The Guardian Angels have quelled several would be violent altercations and have made a citizen’s arrest to protect a teen girl from several harassers.

“I would like to thank the Guardian Angels for their efforts in making Milwaukee County Transit safer. However, these are only temporary solutions to the issue of public transportation safety. I hope that the actions of the Guardian Angel’s serves as encouragement for other passengers to act in the interest of public safety as well.”, said Taylor.

Sheriff David A. Clarke has suggested dedicating Sheriff’s Deputies to have a full-time presence on bus routes. Unfortunately, there is a $5million price tag for those services. In these days of tightening county budgets, that new spending option may not be feasible at that level.
