I was pleased to take part in a recent round table conversation hosted by Kewaunee County Sheriff Matt Joski.  Along with Congressman Mike Gallagher and State Rep. Joel Kitchens, we discussed ways to fight violent crime, drug addiction and the mental health crisis, along with other issues facing our communities.  This is exactly the type of concise and honest discussion regarding the challenges our communities face that public officials at all levels need to have regularly so that we can effectively respond together.

Children in protective care will no longer be placed with admitted child abusers under “Ethan’s Law,” which Gov. Evers signed last week at the State Capitol. 

Senator Jacque Urges Governor to sign bipartisan state budget

After being shut down for over a year, Capitol tours will be resuming on Tuesday, July 6, 2021!  Tours depart from the Information Desk on the ground floor of the Rotunda Monday through Saturday at 9:00, 10:00, 11:00 am, 1:00, 2:00, and 3:00 pm, and on Sunday at 1:00, 2:00, and 3:00 pm.  An additional 4:00 pm tour is offered weekdays through Labor Day. 

Ethan's Law Heads to Governor's Desk

Children in protective care would no longer be subject to placement with admitted child abusers under “Ethan's Law,” which cleared the State Assembly this week and is on its way to the Governor’s desk.

State Sen. André Jacque (R-De Pere) will be holding listening sessions with First Senate District constituents to discuss the 2021-‘23 State Budget and other current legislative issues, and to answer questions from citizens.

As the 2021 legislative session kicks into high gear, we could certainly use the luck of the Irish - and everybody else - to turn the corner on an extraordinarily difficult year and start looking forward to better days ahead.
