Friends and Neighbors,
Happy 2019 to
the residents of Wisconsin’s 95th
district! The past few months have been a period of exciting change
for our state, and I’m eager and honored to bring you all into the
new legislative session with me.
With the New Year comes
a handful of exciting transitions. Governor Evers was sworn in at
the Wisconsin State Capitol on the afternoon of Monday, January 7th.
Since his inauguration, the Legislature has met with Governor Evers
personally and in caucus to discuss our upcoming collaboration and
the execution of gubernatorial and legislative priorities. I’m
excited to work with Governor Evers and our other constitutional
officers Lieutenant Governor Mandela Barnes, Attorney General Josh
Kaul, Secretary of State Doug LaFollette, and State Treasurer Sarah
Godlewski in the coming months.
After the inauguration of our new constitutional officers, I myself was sworn in serve the people of the 95th Assembly District and am more excited than ever to kick off the Wisconsin Legislature’s 2019-2020 session! Thank you to everyone who supported me in my run for re-election. Now that session has convened, you can expect regular newsletters to resume.
As always, please let me know if you have any questions, comments or
concerns. You can always contact
my office by calling (608) 266-5780 or emailing me at
Rep.Billings@legis.wi.gov.
Best Wishes, Jill Billings State Representative 95th Assembly District

Assembly Democrats Release Good Government Legislation On Tuesday, January 15,
Assembly Democrats rolled out an initial package of legislation for the
2019-2020 legislative session.
The last eight years have seen heavy gerrymandering, unchecked campaign
finance laws, and a government that operates behind closed doors.
Wisconsin voted for a change, and I believe it’s time to for an initial
legislative package that prioritizes the following:
·
Redistricting Reform
·
Lame Duck Session Reform
·
Open Records Law and Open Meetings
·
Campaign Finance Reform
