Rep. Neylon Votes No on Taxpayers Funding the Brewers

Pewaukee – Today State Representative Adam Neylon (R-Pewaukee) issued the following statement after voting no on legislation to continue funding the Milwaukee Brewers:

“I voted no on legislation to continue providing hundreds of millions toward the upkeep and improvement of American Family Field. It is irresponsible to give $546 million in taxpayer funds to a team that has increased more than $1 billion in value since the last time we used taxpayer funds to build them a stadium. Using taxpayer dollars to renovate the facilities for a baseball team worth $1.6 billion is a bad deal for taxpayers.

“I want the Brewers to stay in Milwaukee because their presence here is a positive for Wisconsin, just as it has been a positive for them. If the Brewers want to make a true commitment to the city and state that has been a very good home for them, they should buy the stadium, ensuring a guaranteed and long-term interest in staying, rather than just staying as long as the public money holds out.”
