Representative Loren Oldenburg Thanks Veterans

MADISON – Representative Loren Oldenburg (R-Viroqua) thanks those in the 96th who have served in the U.S. Armed Services for their service and dedication to protecting our freedoms.

“I’m grateful to those who have served our country and to those who are still actively protecting our values, democracy, and freedom. Thank you for your service. Veterans Day reminds us to thank those who have served not just on November 11th, but every day.” said Representative Oldenburg.

For those still looking for ways to celebrate and thank our veterans, there are various events happening across the 96th on both Friday and Saturday.

On Friday, Viroqua and Westby will be holding Veterans Day programs. The Viroqua program will be held at 10 a.m. in the Viroqua High School gymnasium, Pam Schipper will be guest speaking. The Westby Program will be held in the Westby High School gym starting at 10:30 a.m., with United States Navy Captain John J. Barnett as a guest speaker.

On Saturday, American Legion Post #446 in Steuben will be hosting the Crawford County Veteran’s Day Ceremony at 7 p.m. at Wauzeka Centur Hall. Kickapoo Creekside in Readstown will also be hosting a Veterans Day Dinner Celebration from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Additionally, Desperados Wonder Bar and Viroqua VFW will be hosting ‘Playing Music for Veterans’ events, first at Viroqua VFW from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., then at Desperados in Soldiers Grove from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
