Navigating state agencies and government contacts can be a daunting task. If you are looking for assistance or have general questions about a particular state program, please contact my office. You can also check the list of state agencies and what they have to offer by visiting this directory

Blue Books & How a Bill Becomes a Law

State of Wisconsin Blue Books and the How a Bill Becomes a Law resource packet are available both through my office and the Assembly Chief Clerk's website. If you are interested in either of these items, please send me an e-mail with your name and address or call my office to request one.

A PDF copy of How a Bill Becomes a Law is available here.

Legislative Citations

An official citation from the state legislature is a wonderful way to recognize an outstanding achievement. The legislature regularly issues citations honoring people who have become Eagle Scouts, received the Girl Scout Gold Award, retired after a long career, proudly served in the Armed Forces, and many other notable accomplishments.

Travel Wisconsin Guides

As the ranking Democratic member of the Assembly Tourism Committee, I have learned about the countless wonderful destinations, attractions, businesses, and landmarks across our state that draw in millions of people every year. Our state's tourism industry is incredibly important to our economy and culture and our state government has created resources to help travelers plan trips, find vacation destinations, learn about events, and enjoy everything our state has to offer. These resources are available on the Travel Wisconsin website

Flag Requests

The Assembly Chief Clerk's office has both American and Wisconsin flags available for purchase. You may also choose to have the flag flown over the state capitol on behalf of someone and/or a special occasion. Flags flown over the capitol include a certificate of recognition.

U.S. Flag $12.00
Wisconsin Flag $12.00

Capitol Tours

There are free tours available in the state capitol most days of the year. From Monday through Saturday, the tours depart from the Information Desk on the ground floor of the capitol rotunda. During the summer the sixth floor museum and observation deck are open to the public, offering incredible views of the city of Madison and of the isthmus. The schedule for these tours changes seasonally. To learn more about arranging a tour of the capitol, please visit the capitol tours web page. For groups of ten or more, please call (608) 266-0382 to reserve a tour, or complete the online reservation form you will find on the web page.

Internship Opportunities

Many of the legislative staffers and my colleagues in the Assembly began their careers in the state capitol as interns. Their experiences equipped them with the knowledge of state government and the tools they needed to succeed professionally. If you are a college student, an internship with the Wisconsin State Assembly can be a very rewarding experience. I encourage you to contact my office if you are interested in applying. Simply submit your resume and a brief cover letter to my office by mail or e-mail.

Additional career opportunities are available in the legislature as well. If you would like your resume sent to a broader reach, please fill out the information requested.
