State Programs / Agency Contacts

Finding the right state agencies and contacts can be overwhelming. If you need help or have questions about a specific state program, feel free to reach out to my office. You can also explore this directory of state agencies.

Blue Books / How a Bill Becomes a Law

State of Wisconsin Blue Books and the How a Bill Becomes a Law resource packet are available through my office. If you are interested in either of these items, please send me an e-mail with your name and address or call my office to request one.

A PDF copy of How a Bill Becomes a Law is available here.

Legislative Citations and Plaques

The legislature regularly issues official citations recognizing outstanding achievements such as becoming Eagle Scouts, receiving the Girl Scout Gold Award, retiring after a long career, proudly serving in the Armed Forces, and many other notable accomplishments.

If my schedule permits, I make a point of attending events to which I am invited to present the citation in person. Please contact my office to arrange this process.

Travel Wisconsin Guides

I am reminded each and every day how fortunate I am to live in a state like Wisconsin. If you are looking to travel around our state in search of recreation, natural beauty, fine art, good restaurants, or state history, my office has a number of resources available to make planning your trip easier. You may also request these items directly from the Travel Wisconsin website.

Flag Requests

The Assembly Chief Clerk's office has both American and Wisconsin flags available for purchase. You may also choose to have the flag flown over the state capitol on behalf of someone and/or a special occasion. Flags flown over the capitol include a certificate of recognition.

U.S. Flag $12.00
Wisconsin Flag $12.00

Capitol Tours

One of my favorite parts of being elected to the Assembly is being able to show my constituents the beauty of the Wisconsin State Capitol building. Free tours are available year round, seven days a week.

To learn more about arranging a tour of the capitol during your upcoming visit to Madison, please visit the capitol tours webpage. For groups of ten or more, please call (608) 266-0382 to reserve your tour, or complete the online reservation form you will find on the webpage.

Internship Opportunities

Many of the legislative staffers and my colleagues in the Assembly began their careers in the state capitol as interns. Our office hires interns during the fall, spring, and summer academic semesters.

Interns are equipped with the knowledge of state government and the tools they need to succeed in a professional environment. If you’re a college student, an internship with Rep. Emerson’s Office can be a very rewarding experience. If you’re interested in applying, please fill out this Google Form.
