Representative Benjamin Franklin Supports Voter ID
Madison- Earlier today, the State Assembly approved a constitutional amendment that would ensure photo ID is required in elections. After voting for passage, State Representative Benjamin Franklin (R-De Pere) released following statement:
“Passing this constitutional amendment ensures Wisconsinites can trust that our elections will remain secure,” said Rep.Franklin. “This amendment would not change state statute but would rather protect it from frivolous lawsuits and judicial activism. If you or someone you know is struggling to get a photo Id to vote please contact (844) 588-1069.”
The resolution has now been approved by both the Assembly and Senate. This is the second consecutive legislative session that the constitutional amendment has passed. The measure does not have to be approved by Governor Evers and instead goes directly to the voters for their approval on a statewide ballot in April 2025.
The 88th Assembly District represents portions of Brown County including the communities of Allouez, Bellevue, De Pere, Rockland, and Ledgeview.
