Representative Lisa Subeck Offers Support to Governor’s Office of Violence Prevention
Tuesday, January 13, 2025
MADISON – Just weeks after the tragic shooting at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison, Governor Evers announced plans to establish an Office of Violence Prevention to curb violence in communities across Wisconsin. Representative Lisa Subeck (D-Madison) issued the following statement:
“Every Wisconsinite should have peace of mind knowing they and their loved ones are safe whether at home, at school, or out in the community. While Madison grieves the lives lost in the mass shooting at Abundant Life Christian School, we are taking action to ensure that our schools and neighborhoods are safe from gun violence.
I will continue to work to pass common sense legislation to end gun violence, including universal background checks, extreme risk protection orders, and safe storage laws. Wisconsinites are demanding action, and the Office of Violence Prevention is a critical step.”
Rep. Subeck represents the 79th Assembly District, and serves as Chair of the Assembly Democratic Caucus.
