About Lisa
Representative Lisa Subeck has served in the Wisconsin State Assembly since January 2015 and was elected Chair of the Assembly Democratic Caucus in 2022. She currently serves as the ranking member on the Assembly Committees on Energy and Utilities and on Health, Aging, and Long-Term Care, and chairs the State Capitol and Executive Residence Board (SCERB).
With nearly two decades of experience in state and local government, Rep. Subeck is a dedicated advocate for Wisconsin families and communities. Before joining the Assembly, she served two terms on the Madison Common Council, where her work focused on improving public transit, strengthening public safety, and expanding access to city services in underserved neighborhoods.
Rep. Subeck’s legislative priorities center on strengthening opportunities for children and families, including expanding access to affordable early childhood education; supporting strong public schools and Wisconsin’s public universities; ensuring accessible, affordable health care; advancing women’s rights and reproductive freedom; and protecting Wisconsin’s environment.
A graduate of the University of Wisconsin–Madison, Rep. Subeck has held leadership roles with United Wisconsin and NARAL Pro-Choice Wisconsin, worked in social services at YWCA Madison, and spent part of her career working in early childhood education and with Head Start programs—experience that continues to inform her work on behalf of children, families, students, and working parents.
Rep. Subeck also serves as the Chair-Elect of the National Foundation of Women Legislators, a member of the executive committee of the Great Lakes Legislative Council, a member of the Leadership Council of the National Association of Jewish Legislators, and on the board of the Wisconsin Public Utility Institute. She is a graduate of the Council of State Governments Bowhay Institute for Legislative Leadership Development and Henry Toll Fellowship programs, as well as the Milbank Memorial Fund's Emerging Leaders Program.
