Legislation Heads to Governor Evers’ Desk
MADISON – After today’s State Assembly vote on Wisconsin’s biennial budget, Representative Lisa Subeck criticized the Republican plan advanced to the Assembly by the Republican dominated Joint Finance Committee and State Senate. The bill now heads to the desk of Governor Tony Evers for approval. Representative Lisa Subeck released the following statement in response.
“Today, my Democratic colleagues and I fought like hell for working families and everyday Wisconsinites who deserve better than the budget Republicans forced through the Assembly today. While we fought to ensure access to affordable child care, health care, and a quality education, Republicans decided to give a huge tax break to millionaires and billionaires.
With a record budget surplus, this was our chance to invest in clean water infrastructure, alleviate the workforce crisis, and expand access to mental health care for all Wisconsinites. It is a shame Republican priorities were elsewhere.”
Rep. Subeck has represented the 78th Assembly District since 2015 and serves as Chair of the Assembly Democratic Caucus.
