Representative Lisa Subeck Calls on Assembly Republicans to Pass
COVID-19 Relief without Delay

MADISON – Today, the Wisconsin State Assembly will meet to consider Assembly Bill 1 as amended by the state Senate. The bill passed by the Senate is the result of bipartisan negotiations and has the support of the Governor, yet Assembly Republicans are expected to delay COVID-19 relief with further changes to the bill. Representative Lisa Subeck (D-Madison) released the following statement ahead of today’s floor session.

“For nearly nine months, Legislative Republicans have done nothing to address the very real challenges our communities, families, and small businesses face. Speaker Vos and his Republican caucus are now the only thing standing in the way of providing needed relief to Wisconsin.

Wisconsin families should not have to wait any longer. Simply put, dragging out COVID-19 relief has gone on for far too long. AB 1 is a compromise bill and a critical first step on our road to recovery. Assembly Republicans should end the political games and get this legislation to the Governor’s desk without delay.”

Rep. Subeck has represented the 78th Assembly District since 2015, and serves as vice-chair of the Assembly Democratic Caucus.
