Representative Lisa Subeck Appointed to Governor’s Task Force on Reducing Prescription Drug Prices

MADISON- Today, Representative Lisa Subeck (D-Madison) announced she has been appointed to serve on the Governor’s Task Force on Reducing Prescription Drug Prices.

“I am committed to finding solutions to address the high cost of prescription medications, and I look forward to tackling the problem as a member of the Governor’s Task Force on Reducing Prescription Drug Prices,” said Rep. Subeck. “No one should be forced to choose between buying food and paying for the potentially lifesaving medications they or their children need.”

The Task Force is charged with collecting and analyzing data on the development, pricing, distribution, and purchasing of prescription drugs. It will investigate steps states have taken to make prescriptions more affordable, and seek opportunities to work with those states and the federal government.

Serving on the bi-partisan, 21-member Task Force with Rep. Subeck are representatives from the Governor’s office, the Attorney General’s office, the state Medicaid director, and the state Insurance Commissioner. Also included on the Task Force are legislators of both parties, the advocacy director of AARP, the chief pharmacy officer of the AIDS Research Center of Wisconsin, health care providers, pharmaceutical company representatives, local pharmacies, and medical professionals.
