Representative Lisa Subeck Applauds Signing of Assembly Bill 119 Enacting Grants to Homeless Shelters; Calls for Senate Action on Remaining Bills to Address Homelessness

 MADISON – Representative Lisa Subeck (D-Madison) released the following statement regarding today’s signing of AB 119 by Governor Tony Evers:

 “I applaud Governor Evers and was pleased to join him for the signing AB 119 providing grants to homeless shelters. Passage of this bill was long overdue, thanks to stall tactics by Senate Republicans. Republicans have put petty partisan politics ahead of our most vulnerable individual and families for far too long. Now it is time for Republican leadership to bring to a vote the remaining bills outlined in the Interagency Council on Homelessness’s plan and already passed by the State Assembly. Every day Republicans refuse to act is another day that too many Wisconsin men, women, and children are literally left out in the cold.”
